Nanotecnología para la energía fotovoltaica

Abstract


Here, we discuss how one can increase the efficiency of photovoltaic processes for the production of energy by means of nanotechnology. Solar cells based on quantum wells, quantum points, and superlattices show a greater photon absorption within the solar spectrum. These novel devices are still in the technological development phase and a full theoretical understanding. We show results for the multi-well quantum, and superlattices, confined systems InGaAs/GaAsP/GaAs and InGaNAs/GaAs, under stress; with promising applications.
