An overview of the fundamental topics of Schrödinger's seminal work, What is life? Chapters 6 and 7, respectively, and an analysis of them from the thermodynamic formalism of irreversible processes and complex systems is presented. In this way, a series of epistemological considerations have established that show its importance and timeliness.
