The lumped heat capacity method applied to target heating
Keywords:Target heating, accelerator
AbstractThe temperature of metal samples was measured while they were bombarded by the beam from the a particle accelerator. The evolution of the temperature with time can be explained using the lumped heat capacity method of heat transfer. A strong dependence on the type of mounting was found.
