Code of Ethics

The Revista Mexicana de Física, a  scientific journal published by the Sociedad Mexicana de Física, A. C., is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical editorial practices. Authors, Reviewers, and members of the Editorial Board must adhere to the following principles of the Code of Ethics.

Authors' Responsibilities

Authors must submit original, high-quality research papers of interest to the international physical science community. Ensure that submitted manuscripts have not been previously published and are not under consideration elsewhere. Any overlap with previously published work must be clearly disclosed and properly cited. Include as co-authors only those individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. Authors must provide information to the Editor-in-Chief regarding previous versions of their manuscript submitted to the Revista Mexicana de Física. Authors must acknowledge the affiliations and departments where the research was conducted. Authors must comply with the authentication and registration of their ORCID iD for each submission made to the journal.

Authors must notify to the Editor-in-Chief any potential conflict of interest regarding funding, data and code disclosure, and research reproducibility.

Research Integrity and Plagiarism

The Revista Mexicana de Física does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, or any other form of scientific misconduct. Submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism-detection software (Crossref Similarity Check). Authors have full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, and legality of the content they submit.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and confidentially. Provide constructive and evidence-based assessments. Declare any conflicts of interest that could compromise their impartiality (see Reviwer Guideline). Inform the editors of any suspected ethical concerns, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, or research misconduct.

Editors' Responsibilities

Editors must make editorial decisions based solely on the scientific merit, originality, relevance, and clarity of submitted manuscripts. Ensure a fair, impartial, and confidential peer-review process. Avoid discrimination based on nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, political views, or personal beliefs. Manage conflicts of interest appropriately and investigate allegations of misconduct.

Confidentiality

Revista Mexicana de Física is committed to protecting the privacy of authors, reviewers, and readers. Any personal information collected (such as names, email addresses, affiliations, and correspondence) will be handled and used solely for the purpose of spreading scientific research, editorial communication, and the normal operation of the peer review process. Under no circumstances will the journal share personal information beyond what is strictly necessary for publication. 

Registered user data within the journal management system (OJS 3. 3) is accessible only to editorial staff and technical administrators. The journal never sells, rents, or trades mailing lists. By using this journal, individuals consent to this limited use of data as described.

Open Access and Responsibility

This journal provides immediate open access to its content. All articles are freely downloadable from the journal's website upon publication, with no registration required. 

Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, as long as they respect the terms of the Creative Commons license stated below.

Ethical Compliance

Violations of this Code of Ethics may result in manuscript rejection, publication retraction, suspension of editorial consideration, or other actions deemed appropriate by the journal.
